According to the 2016 Agility Emerging Markets Logistics Index, the UAE offers the best business conditions found in the world’s emerging markets and is far ahead of the rankings of some of its regional peers such as Bahrain (11), Kuwait (9) and Saudi Arabia (5).

Finishing second overall, the Index which is in its seventh year, ranked 45 leading emerging market countries based on their size, business conditions, infrastructure and various other factors including a survey of more than 1,100 global logistics and supply chain executives.

Other UAE achievements included recognition for the best ‘connectedness’, which comprises countries that have the highest quality of infrastructure, transport connections and customs and border administration. After the UAE, Malaysia, China and Chile ranked highest in connectedness.
